野心に燃える遺物洗い

学生有志数名で、ここ数日遺物洗いをしています。

Some students are washing the artifacts found from the Nakadake Sanroku kilns site for the last few days.


貴重な春休みの数日を地味な遺物洗いに費やすなんて、
なんて殊勝な、と感心していたら、
須恵器に刻まれる、ヘラ描き文字発見を狙っているとの事。
They are spending some days of their spring holidays for this steady work.
They say that they want to find letters inscribed on Sue ware.

野心に燃える遺物洗い作業なのでした。
The fire of ambition burns within them.

ただいま、歴史交流館金峰での企画展で活躍中でございます。
Now she is busy working at the Rekishi-Koryukan Kinpo.

中岳山麓窯跡群から出土する把手付き壺がモデル。
Her design is based on one of the pots with handles that was unearthed at the Nakadake Sanroku Kilns site.



調査期間中に「スエッピー」と命名されました。
名付け親は調査に参加していたドイツ人学生のS さん。
She was named "Sweppy" by one of our German student-archaeologists, Ms. S.

企画展は、３月３１日まで！
If you want to see Sweppy's activities, go to the Rekishi-Koyukan in Kinpo.  The display about the Nakadake Sanroku Kilns will be until March 31!

2月28日の出来事

発掘調査　最終日 The final day ( February 28)

調査区から資材搬出作業を行い、鹿児島大学まで戻ってきました。

We carried the tools from our excavation back to Kagoshima University.

片づけ後、早速土器洗いをする学生たち。 
The students washed the artifacts found from the Nakadake Sanroku kilns site after clearing away the tools.

今年の発掘調査は終了しましたが、次は遺物整理です。
調査はまだまだ続きます。
Although this year's excavation at the Nakadake Sanroku Kilns site is finished, our research will continue (^-^)/

発掘調査　２０日目 Twentieth day ( February 27)

トレンチの埋め戻しを行いました。
We backfilled all trenches.

 

調査は来年、再開します！ 
We will excavate this site again next year.

2月26日の出来事

発掘調査　１９日目 Nineteenth day ( February 26)

発掘調査終盤です。
Today is the closing stage of our excavation.


地磁気年代測定用サンプリング
Mr.K is taking the samples for dating by archaeomagnetism.

熱ルミネッセンス分析のためのサンプリング
事件ではありません。
Dr. S is taking samples for thermoluminescence dating.
All went smoothly.

2月25日の出来事

発掘調査　18日目 Eighteenth day (February 25)

天気も薄曇りで、写真日和!
無事、撮影終了しました。
It is a bit cloudy.
Today's weather is perfect for taking photos!
The photo shoot finished smoothy.

１号窯跡検出状況 全長約８m
The first kiln ruin, the total length is about 8m.

赤色部分周辺が焚口付近か
We suspect that there was a hole for fuel near the red soil.

夕食後は宿舎で遺物整理。
The students are checking the excavated artifacts after dinner.

2月24日の出来事

発掘調査　17日目 Seventeenth day ( February 24)


中岳山麓窯跡群を８０年代に最初に報告されたK村先生が来てくださいました。

Mr. K, emeritus professor at Kagoshima University, came to the Nakadake Kilns site.  Now in his 80's, he made his first report about the site.

岡山理科大学のH先生、熊本大学M先生、九州大学K氏からなる古地磁気調査隊と熱ルミネッセンス分析の立正大学S先生も本日より参加。
The archaeomagretism and thermoluminescence team  joined us today.

窯跡検出全景写真撮影に向けて、慌ただしくなってきました。
The photographers have been very busy taking photos of the surface of the kiln remains.

熊本からの見学者Y氏も土嚢運びをお手伝い。
Mr. Y from Kumamoto prefecture helped us.
